Tyre Choice for Aristo V300

Goodyear Eagle F1 - £120 / $200 per corner

The best tyre, amazing in the dry, even more amazing in the wet, wears very well. I did 12,000KM on one set including some 1/4 mile action.

Great for road use, no wheelspin at FULL THROTTLE in the wet in 2nd gear.

Dry grip - 8/10
Wet grip - 9/10
Durability - 9/10
Tyre wall strength - 5/10

Knockhill Lap time on Goodyear F1 @ 280bhp - 72s

Michelin Competition Use Slick (Porsche Cup) - £180 / $300 per corner

Very good slick tyre. The car understeers until warm. Once warm, they stay warm even when in the pits.

Great cornering - reduced lap time by 4 seconds at Knockhill racing circuit versus Goodyear Eagle F1 road-tyre.

Body-roll was reduced greatly and outer tyre wear.
When too much power is down, quick release of throttle and then back on throttle works very well to regain grip, much better than road tyre. The road tyre would 'squirm' once power is re-engaged sometimes.

Dry Grip - 9.5/10
Wet grip - 1/10
Durability - 6/10 (50 laps max)
Tyre wall strength - 9/10

Knockhill Lap time on Goodyear F1 @ 280bhp - 68s

Uneven Tyre Wear?

Uneven tyre wear suggests camber and caster setup. A good 4-wheel alingment specialist (maybe someone who sets up race cars or rally cars) will set the car up for you. I use the GS300 settings which have been great so far.

Recommend camber + caster setup twice per year for road use, more often for track use.
