Buying an Aristo V300

Buying an Aristo V300 is no easy task.

The new price is 25,000 GBP or $45,000 for basic V300

Full spec model touchscreen / leather / Mark Levinson stereo is 29,000 GBP or $58,000.

Importing a vehicle into the UK or Europe will add 50% typically...net price 43,000 GBP.

Full spec includes - chrome rims, F1-shift, ARS 4-wheel steering, touchscreen & Mark Levinson 7 speaker audio pack. I would always opt for this model.

Import from Japan or buy locally?

Japanese examples are always in beautiful condition, great bodywork and perfect rims. This is how Japanese people look after their Aristo V300's! However, the pitfalls are that if the car has any major problems or is of dubious history you have no guarantee. If you have the money, I would fly to Japan and buy one personally. I'd also get it tuned up over there too.

Already imported Aristo's to UK are normally abused and misused. The fuel will typically be 95 RON and the Aristo V300 needs 100RON. 99.9% of UK/US Aristo users do not boost the octane to the correct 100 rating. This results in pinking at higher boost levels and longterm damage to the engine.
Bodywork and condition is poor on UK examples, says something about UK owners. They prefer to buy it as an alternative to GS430 rather than the ultimate Lexus/Aristo.

If you wish to buy a UK or already imported Aristo, I recommend an RAC Check , which for 250GBP, is worth it.

Stuff that breaks on the Aristo V300

- rear steering rack (very common, replace with new rack or TOMS ARS remover bar)

- front steering rack (rare, but possible)

- brake servo (rare, but possible)

- ceramic turbos (these are usually good for 100,000 miles untuned use)

- wing mirror motor

- salt corrosion if it has not been undersealed / looked after
